Changing lives through care & advocacy
Christina was inspired to enter nursing after living with a sickly grandparent and a sister diagnosed with cervical cancer. She experienced their struggle to receive needed care and compassion and her spirit of advocacy was sparked. Although passionate about her direction, her educational aspirations were interrupted – financial hardships imposed by job loss and then eviction from her apartment leaving her family homeless. Christina pushed through these trials in pursuit of her nursing dream and the goal to become the first in her family to attend college.
Christina has already spent 10 years in healthcare and hopes to gain her registered nursing license in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her supervising physician describes Christina as an asset, conscientious and an adaptive fast learner – a hard working professional. Even while pursuing her education, Christina finds time to give back to her community by volunteering and helping those who struggle to help themselves. Christina has been described as serving as a clear moral and intellectual standard for others to aspire to.
