Caring, teaching, motivating people to love and help themselves – Tammie Pinkston’s dream has been realized for her children and she is poised to change the world.
Tammie emerged from a background of domestic violence and was determined to be a role model for her three young children. She recalls standing in her living room with no lights, no heat, and no support. She committed then to make staying in school and doing their best a family priority. Today her children have fulfilled her dream: the eldest son has a B.S. in Business and has started his Master of Social Work; the second son overcame learning disabilities and is pursuing his degree in military science; and her youngest, a daughter, is graduating high school this year and plans to attend college. Next year Tammie will be graduating from Savannah State University with her bachelor’s in Social Work.
