Courage, competence, compassion, and commitment – these are the words others use to describe Norma McCurdy. Well along her path to success, Norma is determined to make a difference.
From receptionist to construction laborer to fast food cook to Army Reservist – you name the job and Norma has been there! In the midst of this drive, she also maintained a home mortgage and raised her son. When the dollars and hours allowed, she took classes at local vocational and technical schools, became a certified nursing assistant, and then obtained her associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Volunteering with the Georgia Meth Project and serving as an intern with the Gwinnett County Police Department leaves Norma with few hours in her day open, and yet she has received academic honors at ITT Technical Institute and has a perfect attendance record! Compassion from her rich life experiences and persistence characterize Norma’s vision to be of greater service to others.
