Torsha Grace

I made up in my mind that I was going to emerge as a mother who puts action behind her words. I want to be the best role model and positive influence that my children will have. If I can instill values in my children to stick it out through the tough times, then I can do it too!

Battered, homeless, and debt-ridden, Torsha Grace’s poor choices early in life could have beaten her. Instead, she knew her life had purpose and a higher calling. Education was the key!

Finishing high school as a pregnant teen, Torsha was happy to graduate, but very scared to be a mother at an early age. Seeing friends going off to college, Torsha felt her own education goals becoming distant and diminishing. Abusive relationships and personal debt were accompanied by other poor choices. Through the years, Torsha stressed to her children the importance of making good choices and getting an education. Today, she has a daughter in her junior year of college, a son who is a high school freshman, and a first grader! Now it is her turn to make that effort for herself. Enrolled at the University of Phoenix, Torsha is taking the first steps of her associate’s degree on her journey to become a human resources professional.
