Keymia Morrow

Education can help you understand your world, your neighbor, and your role. I am thinking of all the generations to come and a legacy of determination, perseverance, education, and kindness.

Envisioning a world of possibilities where rain is followed by rainbows, Keymia is painting a brilliant future as an educator. She learned early in life to value creativity and learning – riches she found growing up in a single parent home where her mother worked, but where there were financial struggles. After receiving her associate degree in 2002, Keymia was working with special needs children and recognized that she had her own needs to fulfill – a desire to go back to school and earn a bachelor’s degree in art education. Sounds simple, but as the main source of income for her family, investing in this future presented risks. With the support of her family, Keymia is well down the path to becoming the first teacher in her family and to achieving her dream of being a guidance counselor.
