Chelsea Thomas has always been intent on helping others, so pursuing a career in the medical field felt like a natural fit, but it wasn't until her father became ill that she realized her role as a caregiver was so important. Even though she had previously been so ill that she was forced to withdraw from school, she immediately stepped up and took on the role of primary caregiver for her father. Chelsea believes that because she was so ill herself, she can offer patients more than medicine. She truly understands and relates to their feelings of sadness, loneliness and fear. Chelsea believes that as a nurse, she will also serve as counselor, friend and trusted advisor and her own illness will help her connect with her patients in a very unique way. Chelsea also has always served her community. She is involved with Relay For Life, Habitat for Humanity, Lanier Technical College fundraising campaigns, Locks of Love, Quinn House donations, and collecting toys for the children's ward at the local hospital. Chelsea is currently a junior majoring in nursing at Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Pi, which is the National Society of Leadership.
