Bonnie Johnson is currently seeking a BBA in Management at Kennesaw State University's Coles College of Business. She seeks to prove to herself and her children that education is important and it's never too late to obtain a higher education. Bonnie attends school while working full time as an assistant administrator. She is the sole supporter of her two adult children with special needs; her son has cerebral palsy and her daughter recently received a kidney transplant. She is also a two-time cancer survivor. Her parents did not have the benefit of higher education. Her mother survived an abusive relationship and when Bonnie began to see those signs in her own marriage, she quickly took actions to ensure that her children would not continue in a lifecycle that she experienced. Although her path has not always been easy, she is committed to giving back. Bonnie is deeply committed to helping the community and has taken leadership roles in several charitable organizations. She served a captain for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life team and also served on the steering committee for two years. She has also served as a volunteer coordinator for Junior Achievement and Habitat for Humanity. Bonnie explains that, "It's important to me to be needed and my passion for 'giving back' is a way for me to fulfill that need. I embrace and have faced many challenges in life and my strength today is my reward."
